Zen Pinball 2 App Reviews

No support

I bought this game for my Mac and just saw it available for the New AppleTv. Their forum stated purchased tables would load on AppleTV version. They didn’t. I went to their site looking for support. Not even a link. Just forums where others have noted same problem; with no reply from moderators/staff. Since one can’t leave reviews on the AppleTV store (wish it could be accessed from Mac or Ipad) I’m leaving a review here. Yes I tried to restore purchases, no go. So I will not purchase any more tables until this is fixed. Otherwise I like the game, just want to play my tables on AppleTV.

Can’t restore in-app purchases

I tried to restore my purchases, App store login pop up window appears, as soon as you click on password field the Zen app minimizes. When you enter password, pop up screen disappears and then nothing happens. When you click back on Zen app, it says restore purchases not available at this time. Frustrating...

unable to access previously purchased tables.

When I go to restore previously purchased tables. I get the error “Unable to restore yout tables this time. Try again later. I have tried this off and on for a few weeks and still get the same message. Restoring purchases works well on iOS and TvOS, but on the Mac it just gives that message. You guys need to fix this.

Great Game (but not on Apple TV)

I love playing this game on my Mac and iPad. I play Family Guy, SouthPark, Sorcerer’s Lair, and Portal all the time. Very, very fun! But it really lags on Apple TV (Siri Remote and/or SteelSeries Nimbus game controller). The game needs work to be a realistic game for Apple TV 4. Unfortunately, support is limited also. But, once again, this is a great pinball sumulator.

REVISED - El Capitan lag gone.

The terrible lag that I was experiencing since updated El Capitan is gone now, so I’m bumping this back up to 4 stars. Great game, and Sorcerer’s Lair (the free table) is easily the best table that I’ve played so far. Can’t give 5 stars because the OS X game does not have the global score boards, and is missing Epic Quest table, which I’ve read is a hands down favorite amongst all Zen Pinballers. Worth downloading for the Sorcerer’s Lair tabel alone though. I’d advise against purchasing the Bob’s Burgers table. The bumpers are essentially designed to knock the ball down the left and right drains.

Very good pinball game

I’m playing this game on a Mac with El Capitan - no problems. This is a well-made game. The only issues I have are that it’s a little hard to see what’s going on at the top of the table and I wish we could see what other tables look like before buying them. There are four shown besides Sorcerer’s Lair on this page but they’re small pictures.

Great play, terrible in-app purchase experience...

Like the game play enough I thought I’d spend a few bucks on the Family Guy table. After multiple attempts to purchase, it never does, gives me some error about “unable to load table” and never purchases it. I will rate this higher once the ability to actually give the developer money is fixed. :(

Be Fair

A reviewer complained about this coming with only one table out of the 80 available…Now to be fair the one included table is “EXCELLENT” in fact of all the ones I have purchased to date, I’d say this is the best. The game developer did not stiff anyone here. This pinball game has excellent game play, is extremely reliable (on the Mac), and most of all fun - a lot of fun. My pre-schooler loves it and has not trouble with the controls. Not tried the Apple TV version yet. Partly because I am not thrilled with Apple TV. So I recommend this game for the Mac, plays beautifully. Give it a try! You may be less pleased with some of the purchased tables however which vary in play quality. A bit like real pin ball, there are legends and there are forgetables… I rate this a “Buy”.

The 6 reasons I deleted it.

1. It only had a full screen option 2. Only one level was free 3. It didn’t tell you what buttons to click. I presed every button and none of them turned the flippers. Isn’t that the flippers the point of pinball? 4. You couldn’t see the mouse in-game. Maybe I’m supposed to click on the flippers but how can I if the mouse disappears? 5. The instructions were bad. 6. Lots of loading (Even on a fast computer)
